Discussing how the Old Testament can be used to understand New Testament convictions....on the topic of giving

Click Here  - For the Honor of God- Kip McKean (:50)

"Number one, you talk about giving or offering sacrifices, you know the bible teaches in the old testament, over and over and over again, you sacrifice from the first fruits, and you give it to God. You know there isn't the confusion, well, my giving to the church, do I agree with what the church is giving it to or spending the money, no-no, the old testament is so clear about what we are doing when we give our offering. But surprising to me, I mean we have disciples that just don't give anything.  And yet they are eating. They have clothes. You know we've gotta start asking our self, is it our first priority to give to God?  If you look at the old testament, you'll see the promises of God."

Old Testament versus New Testament on the topic of church attendance.

"Another thing is church attendance. You know you find all these people trying to convince people oh be at church, be at church, and there are scriptures in the New Testament, but if you understand that in the Old Testament when they sounded the trumpet, you're supposed to be there or you were gonna be killed by the enemy or if you didn't show up you'd be killed by your own people. I mean you'd get a conviction, you know something, when the trumpet sounds, when church is called, I'm there. Amen? Because it's part of being the people of God. It's part of being the people of God. And the trumpet doesn't just sound on Sunday morning. The trumpet sounds on Wednesday night, and we're fired up about our men's night out and women's night out.  Amen guys? The trumpet sounds for the campus and the teens on Friday night, amen guys? And that's always an awesome time. But whenever the church is called together, that's were you need to be. Amen church?"
